Vitamin K is what our bodies make naturally to clot blood. It takes us about 7-8 days to have enough in the newborn body to clot without being given the shot. I typically ask you all to do your research, ask your pediatrician and be sure and calm about the decision you make. The defining “yes, do it” comes when you are going to circumcise in the hospital.
